Frequently Asked Questions

>> Do you accept returns?

For image downloads, all sales are final. No refunds will be given for digital files, unless the product is faulty. If you had trouble downloading it, please contact me and will will deliver the image via a different link or email.

For custom made products, such as Limited Edition acrylics or posters, you may return the unused item within 14 days at your own cost should you decide you don’t like it. I will then issue a refund minus a 20% re-stocking fee. I will issue a 100% refund or replacement if the product has arrived damaged.

>> How big are your images (pixels and file size)?

It depends on what I’ve used to take them, but they’re all around 2500 and 5000 pixels either side at 300dpi, some are even bigger. At low JPG compression, that’s anywhere between 2 and 20MB per file. I can issue bigger files for larger projects on request at extra cost.

>> May I re-sell your pictures as they are?

No, you are not allowed to re-sell digital files of any of my products that are available on this site.

You may however use these files to create your own products (i.e. prints, layouts, etc) and re-sell those products as you see fit. Each file purchase entitles you to re-sell one copy in printed form. If you would like to sell more than one print of any one image, you have to purchase one license per print you inted to sell. I offer multiple license deals for this scenario.

>> Can I buy the copyright to your image?

No you can’t, and there’s no need to. The Image License you purchase gives you the right to use the image you’re buying, but you won’t own it.

>> What’s an Image License again?

It’s an agreement between you and me that describes what you can and cannot do with a digital image file you’ve bought. In a nutshell, it outlines that you’re allowed to publish or display my image, or re-sell one product per license with my image on it. It gives you the right to use the image as outlined in the document.

You may want to do things with my images that the license prohibits you to do. In which case, you can upgrade to a Pro or Bulk License.

>> Can I download an image and use it for a worldwide ad campaign?

You can, but you’ll have to upgrade to a Pro or Bulk License as is commonly used in publishing and advertising. We can discuss prices for larger scale projects on a per-case basis, which is usually a 6 month or 1 year license per territory/project.

Prices for those are not fixed and depend on the scale of your project. They will be anywhere between £100 and £1000 per image per term.

>> I’d like to print 10.000 items with your image on. Am I allowed to do that?

You are indeed allowed to do so, if you upgrade to a Bulk License. It entitles you to print multiple copies of any one image in one print run, and you can sell the resulting products.

>> I’d like to use one image and split it over various panels. May I do that?

You’re more than welcome to use an image and span it over multiple panels (say to create a diptych or triptych, or something even bigger like a 3×3 mosaic). I do ask however that you purchase one license per panel you intend to create.

Please note that will have to crop the image as you see fit from the files provided (i.e. from “whole” images). If you would like me to do this for you, an additional charge of £30 per hour plus VAT applies. It’s probably best if you CONTACT ME with such a request for a quote.

>> Are you available for commissioned work? Advertising, Weddings, Bar-mitzvahs, Children’s Parties?

Making somebody else’s vision a reality isn’t my style – however if you like what you see and want me to do exactly that, please get in touch and we’ll have a chat. My day rate is £650 + VAT + travel + stock costs + expenses.

>> I’m after a large scale backlit installation. How much is that?

It depends on the size you want – some guide prices and examples are on www.lightpaintings.net

>> I’m looking for a Limited Edition piece, but it’s not in your shop.

Let me know the title and the size, and I can make it for you. It’ll take about 4 weeks to manufacture. For guide prices, have a look at www.lightpaintings.net (even if you’re after a Holga shot or similar).

>> Do you have an Affiliate Programme so I can promote your work for a commission?

I’m working on it… bear with me 😉
